About

I am a self-taught Australian oil painter working in the realist tradition. I have split my time between France and Australia over the past ten years, exhibiting with galleries in Paris, Philadelphia, Melbourne and Adelaide.

Although I enjoy painting many different genres, in recent years my work has focused on portraiture and landscape painting, drawing inspiration from the places I have lived and explored, and the people I have met. As a portrait artist, I am driven to interpret the psychology and emotion of my subject, to tell some part of their story. When painting landscapes, on the other hand, I seek to capture the expansiveness and singular colours of the diverse and distinct locations that inspire me.

My work has been recognized with numerous awards, including a multiple finalist in the Kennedy Art Prize and AME Bale Portrait Prize, a multiple semi-finalist in the Doug Moran Portrait Prize, and three-time winner of the Goolwa Art Prize.
